A designer himself, the owner of this backyard in Chicago was a fantastic and challenging client. The custom built deck railing and polychrome concrete pavers pictured below are both the results of his collaboration. Their muted colors and richly varied textures carry over from the client's body of professional work, and people say they look as if they grew there.
