Alter-Egos: The English Whale is a sea monster, depicted on a map of Iceland drawn by Abraham Ortelius around the year 1590. Its accompanying description matches that of a modern blue whale. Blue Whales are the largest animals ever known to have existed. They can be up to 100 feet long with a tongue that weighs over 3 tons. Blue Whales do not have teeth, they have baleen.
