Very few of the instructors at Southern Maine Community College are full-time faculty.  For better or worse, it's an institution that relies on community members who are able to teach an occasional class or two.

Using free software, Josh Cundiff 3-d scanned and performed a cross-sectional analysis of this tiny piece of coral.  Meticulously printing, cutting, and assembling those cross sections, he re-contextualized it's dynamic form as a waffle grid.  

Alicia Wright's miniatures were undertaken as a textural, material, and trans-dimensional exploration of childhood memories.  

For this exercise, "Drawing in Space", Ariel Rodman channeled the eerily fibrous material palette of her favorite sculptor, Petah Coyne.
